Update: there is apparently at least one more poem read by her so let me know if this works and i’ll link the other one
I *may* be able to help with this. It might not be a very clean copy but I’ll see what I can do…
You have a possibility to download them?!? THAT WOULD BE… I can’t find the words! I would love you even more!
I can help with that too, if you like? I have a few of them that I thieved off the internet before, anyway. I posted one for Burns’ Night, but I think I recorded a few more. If there’s still a call for any of it when I get home tonight (about eight hours or so from now) I can make a folder of them?

Let’s just go on our honeymoon, and forget about the marriage business, ok?
Charles Carson - Downton rp
It might be a little inappropriate, but this made me grin.
You two lovable, complicated, overly analytic pair of lovebirds.
You know, I think Charles needs to win this one. I’m not the biggest cheerleader of marriage as a necessary institution myself. But RP!Elsie obviously still has hang-ups about being thought of as Charles’ ‘bedwarmer’ and fears about the permenence of it all. Even if they’re only subconscious.
And she likes it when he plays the old-fashioned gent so long as he does it in a way that doesn’t make her feel powerless. Being married, having a simple label for themselves, and letting Charles do the solemn-vows-before-God-and-man business would probably be really good for her.
Also, I think Charles is a guy who gets antsy when he’s uncertain about his own proper place. Being able to inhabit the role of husband might shorten his toes a bit (to use that wonderful metaphor I learned from this RP). Which would make Elsie less inclined to fall back on teasing him to avoid rows (thus re-triggering her own doubts form the previous paragraph and starting the row anyway… )
Also also - Misterandmissuscarson as an entity in the hotel would be adorable.
There you go. Aubry postulates conventional marriage as ideal solution for troubles of fictional couple. You might want to copy and save that one for posterity. ;)

Even if Jon was Ned's bastard eldest son he wouldn't inherit any titles because he is illegitimate; although William the Conqueror was a bastard son and the first king of England so I guess it could be something to fear in later years. If Jon was Lyanna's son he still wouldn't inherit as Ned's children were first in line, however if all the Stark boys were to die then Jon would be Lord of Winterfell (assuming it's through the male line). I'm a bit of a history dork, sorry c:
Would that hold even if the king were to declare Jon a legitimate Stark, though? We know that is in a king’s power to do in Westeros.
Help me out, Tumblr. Is there any chance that Cat might fear (even subconsciously) that Jon is older than Robb (and thus even more of a potential threat to her children’s inheritance)?
I feel like I’m the only one /:
This needs more notes…
I didn’t know this was a thing. How horrible.
I’m starving but too ashamed of myself to eat today. sigh This is why you should never criticise little girls’ weight or teach them to turn food into a moral issue. Sometimes 20 years on they still can’t get the dodgy code out of their brains.Going to read some fic and hope wonderful stories will sort me out.
If you’re reading this, do me a favour and take a minute to remind yourself that you are awesome and special and that every one of you guys makes the world better just by being.
I am so sad for them right now. :(

Do you think Charles comforted Elsie (off screen of course) when she was so upset about Anna in the Christmas special?
Definitely. Though probably in quite a tentative and unspoken way. I’m afraid she probably didn’t get the hug that she so desperately needed. That would be opening too big a can of emotional worms for Charles.
Even though we didn’t get to see an actual conversation about it, I think that Charles is very aware of how upset Elsie is in the CS and that it flusters him. Their lives aren’t like the crowd upstairs - they don’t have much time to themselves and even less without interruption. I choose to read the scene where Charles comes to her room directly from the Great Dog Adventure as evidence that he’s been hovering and not sure whether to broach the subject with her, and that they probably haven’t had a chance to talk at all.
I like to think that he came to her at some point after the Anna hug - probably on the pretext of sharing some wine left over from dinner. And she talked about Anna’s feelings rather than her own. Charles knows her well enough though to wait it out until she’s on the verge of admitting how guilty she feels, and then, when she can’t quite say it, to swoop in any way with some kind and simple words about how she’s not culpable.
Maybe by talking about how she came to him about what she overheard between Bates and Vera, and about what they together are going to do about Anna he instinctively reminded her that she wasn’t in any of this alone. Even though it wasn’t his testimony, he’s in this with her. That’s not quite the same comfort as the hug and the kiss we all desperately wanted him to give her, but probably it would mean a great deal to Elsie. The simplest of exchanges between them are always weighted with such a huge amount of meaning and affection.
